Check through the code engine-side. I seem to remember having a tricky time allowing the controllers to be keyboard usable, and I think there is some setInterval stuff going on in there to allow for that.

Duh.

= oef_dummy;
not
= oef_dummy();

OK, cheers Julian, I think I see how that works now.

But of course now I have that working, I'm suspecting it won't solve the issue:

If I hit the fastforward button, I increment up the seek point.
I have also been moving the slider button incrementally with it using that seek point value .

But of course when I release the button, I go back to positioning the slider based on playHeadTime.
There is some sort of latency in there that snaps the slider back to where it was when FF was pressed, the immediately jumps it forward to the correct position.

sigh.

It executes once. grr.

<SCR isFunc name=oef_dummy>
debug('frame');
</SCR>

<EVENT>Onscreen button pressed</EVENT>
btn_video_dummy.onEnterFrame = oef_dummy();

<RES> Dummy button rs=btn_video_dummy</RES>

<RES> Onscreen button</RES>

It sounds right, what you've done:

SCR //the script  function myFunc
INT
  RES //the event
    SCR - calls the function / sets up the onEnterFrame, of, say INT to be myFunc

??

Not sure what you mean.

Isn't that this line: (and isfunc script icon)

>trips isfunc ffbuttonDown //set ffisDown = 1;

Give it  script function.

myFunction = function(){
  ///blah
}

But I can't do this on the Xerte line correct?
function() is unavailable?

On the Xerte line I have:

button.onPress event
trips isfunc ffbuttonDown //set ffisDown = 1;
At that point, onEnterFrame on my timing dummy is running constantly so I set a variable to allow the script inside that to execute.

The way to turn it on or off is to delete the function - it will otherwise always run.  So the function ca say if(mySomeFlag == true) do stuff else not;

I prefer to recreate the function. The way I like to do is to create a function

myFunction = function(){
  ///blah
}

Then myMC.onEnterFrame = myFUnction to start it; delete myMC.onEnterFrame //doesn't delete the function, I think, otherwise I recreate the tracker clip itself,

Think I went down this road before and could not figure it out.

If I have an event icon set to target the onEnterFrame event of a dummy swf I'm using just to update stuff at certain times, is there a way to turn that event off and on?
Or does it just run constantly and I need to use a secondary variable to execute it's code or not?

Cheers,

Dave
