We have a captivate template which handles it.

It's just supposed to show the series of steps in finding and opening a piece of software. I only have limited knowledge of these things, but I don't think the quality is a wink issue - it's just low res - I can easily change the resolution and/or the size of the frame that's captured, but presumably that doesn't matter if it won't be the correct size in xerte anyway.

Am I right to assume that captivate swf files don't have the same problem (i.e. changing the resolution on loading?)

Many thanks,

What are you trying to show with that: the quality isn't very good, and when you resize it to something Xerte can display it's going to look awful I think: even at a big resolution on my monitor it looks bad. Is this a wink issue?

The problem in Xerte is because the wink movie loads up and changes the xerte screen resolution: it assumes it will be running on its own, rather than loaded into something else (like Xerte). Not sure I can do much about that I'm afraid. Has anyone else tried and got wink to work?

Can you send me the swf produced by wink please?

Hi,

I'm trying to add a screen capture video to my learning object but don't currently have a copy of captivate. I can't use jing either because I need to be able to edit the video. I've found a free tool, wink, that I can use, but when I try to add a captivate movie made using wink in XOT (or in the standalone version of xerte), it seems to resize the video and zooms in on a small part of the screen. The resolution of the video is 685x514. I've tried to render the video in lots of different sizes but this doesn't seem to make a difference. When I open it as a page wizard in xerte, there doesn't seem to be any code to resize the video that I can fiddle with. Am I best off just getting a copy of captivate?

Many thanks for your help,
