Not aware of any problems with xampplite or with running them together as MAXOS does that?

Perhaps maxos might help?

Did the installation work via demo.php first? Always worth trying that to ensure everything else is ok first. So try this...

The demo.php worked fine for me. I believe the path to moodle is correct but I will recheck tomorrow. I'm using xampplite and running both moodle and xerte from the same install is that makes a difference?
