Hello,
Welcome to the list.
I tried it on my Vista last weekend and it worked ok, but with XAMPP I
have to start the services myself. It was built on linux, so it should
behave itself.
It sounds like maybe an error with the .htaccess file?
What are the contents of the .htaccess in the toolkits folder.
Thanks
Pat

Subject: [Xerte] Linux installation of toolkit
Firstly thanks for the presentation last week. I was good to be able to
talk with the movers & shakers.
Since I got home, I have attempted 4 installations of the toolkit:
Xampp installation on Windows XP is fine.
Xampp installation on Vista throws a MySQL error if I install MySQL as a
service but not if I start Apache and MySQL with the restart command. I
can live with that.
Neither installation on a Linux box running Fedora 9 is behaving itself,
despite following the instructions.
The opening page appears, and I can create a folder and a project.
These are indeed created in USER_FILES, owned by user apache and have
permissions 777. However, when I try to edit a project, I get a 404
error and e.g. "/toolkits/edit_12 not found on this server", despite
USER_FILES/12-Guestuser-Nottingham existing.
Any idea what I've done wrong?
Regards,
Bryan Dawson
