I know what the issue is: the symbolic link they use to link to USER-DATA is missing, so the editor, and the runtime, cannot load the XML. Projects won't play at the moment, as well as the editor won't load xml. John was able to get a screenshot of the ftp and there is no USER-DATA.
And typically, the IS guys have now gone home after making the change and not verifying it works. I promised to check in at 6.30 this evening after they told me there was further work to do around 4.45 this afternoon, when I was unavailable.
Pheesh.

What you want to know, is what is in the variable that's being parsed.
You can see that in the console.

Sorry for any confusion my Nottingham workspace seems fine now.
But it’s weird that a day after you reported this I’m getting the same thing on a completely different installation.
Hoping Tom has some suggestions?

they were making some changes and some interruption was expected.
I just logged in and tried: I get a workspace but cannot edit any projects: I get an empty editor in Edge and Chrome on my Surface Pro.
What happens now?

Hi Tom
This is weird – I’ve been at a meeting all day but got an email from someone scared that they’d lost all their work with the same empty workspace as Julian reported.
I’m just checking now and get the same problem with my own account on this installation.
Chrome shows the following error:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token P in JSON at position 0
at JSON.parse (<anonymous>)
at XMLHttpRequest.refreshworkspace_stateChanged (template_management.js:648)
But nothing has changed or been changed with this installation so what would cause it to suddenly stop working correctly?
Cheers
Ron

It is an invalid response by
website_code/php/templates/get_templates_sorted.php
And yes, that could have to do with db problems, but also timeout (it takes to long to get all the items in your workspace).
Check what the contents are of response (assigned on line 647 of website_code/scripts/template_management.js) in the console of your browser. That should give you a hint.

Was working fine earlier, now when I log in I get empty workspace: this sounds like a db issue?
