Hi David
ILA has a contract with Wiley that shifts all of their publications to Open Access in the new year. Wiley have been negotiating arrangements with various university systems in the US and worldwide. Publishers and professional organizations such as ILA are keeping a close eye on the ramifications of the shift to the flows of knowledge and the journals themselves.

Subject: [Reading-hall-of-fame] Wondering if other universities are in this same deal-making game with academic publishers

[CAUTION: Non-UBC Email]

Sharing a piece from the UC (systemwide) library about an open access deal with Sage for the social sciences. The sciences are well-covered already in the UC system. This article also implies that Wiley and UC have cut a deal.

Are other university library systems involved in these deals?

David
