Hi Jan - thank you for the reminder. I can't recall if I nominated Bill Rupley for this year. Do you happen to have his name on your list of nominees. My apologies for causing you more work.
Best

Greetings Reading Hall of Fame Members,
It is time to send me your nominations for induction into the Reading Hall of Fame. Inductions will be held at the November Reading Hall of Fame business meeting at LRA.
If you would like to nominate someone into the Reading Hall of Fame, here is what you need to send me:
1) Your name, your university, your email address (I need to keep this information for the induction ceremony at LRA in November).
2) The name, university or institution affiliation, and email address of the individual(s) you wish to nominate.
3) A 250 biography including the individual's sustained accomplishments and contributions to the literacy field.
4) Send this information to me directly @ jan.dole at utah.edu<mailto:jan.dole at utah.edu>
You can nominate both living and deceased individuals for inclusion into the RHF.
As you think about who you wish to nominate, keep these points in mind:
a. An inductee must have made significant contributions to the field for 25 years after the terminal degree is granted (it doesn't matter what the degree is; it does not have to be a Ph.D.). Therefore, nominators will need to verify to me (when questionable) through the nominee's vita when the terminal degree was granted. There has been debate about this. However, this is a required criterion for this year. RHF members can debate the criterion in November.
b. "Sustained accomplishments and contribution to the literacy field" can include: authorship of publications on literacy, including reports of significant research; performance in positions of responsibility in the field of literacy; and, preparation of leaders in the literacy field through teaching.
c. Before you nominate someone, please check out the existing list of living (current) and deceased members @ https://www.readinghalloffame.org/current-members<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.readinghalloffame.org%2Fcurrent-members&data=04%7C01%7Ctrasinsk%40kent.edu%7C060729a27d374a0e90e308d92f495a30%7Ce5a06f4a1ec44d018f73e7dd15f26134%7C1%7C0%7C637592814496310778%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=1W%2FowQTOsmyaBr3bX%2F1z3MlXX6BRptoKDEXCNB4dcRU%3D&reserved=0>, https://www.readinghalloffame.org/deceased-members<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.readinghalloffame.org%2Fdeceased-members&data=04%7C01%7Ctrasinsk%40kent.edu%7C060729a27d374a0e90e308d92f495a30%7Ce5a06f4a1ec44d018f73e7dd15f26134%7C1%7C0%7C637592814496310778%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=%2F3sY8Y%2BosNCOG1UsJ0EB5oxRk5FS%2FlJG8%2B04BmvTQkE%3D&reserved=0>
Each year I receive nominations of individuals who are already members of RHF.
Finally, I am attaching the Voting Procedures for 2020-2025 that was voted on by the RHF membership in December, 2019. Read it if you have questions about what the nomination process will look like. If you still have questions, please let me know. I'm happy to answer them.
ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY SATURDAY, JUNE 19TH, 12:00 PM MT, USA TIME. I WILL CLOSE NOMINATIONS AT THIS TIME AND WE WILL BEGIN VOTING.
Many thanks and take care,
Jan Dole, Ph.D.
Secretary, Reading Hall of Fame
