Kia ora tatou - greetings to you all from New Zealand

Your wise words and historical recollecting about Frank Smith resonate
around the world.  I, too, remember Frank telling the story of 'shopping'
in the department store, and what a powerful impact it had - great memory,
Brian!  We are so privileged to have had such giants as Frank and Ken and
others to enrich our professional and personal lives, to bring laughter as
well as seriously important learning.

*Kua hinga te totara i te wao nui a Tane* - a totara (beautiful, important
native NZ tree) has fallen in the forest of Tane.

Thank you, Frank, Ken, and so many others whose literacy contributions
really matter.
