As others have said, Im overcome with sadness during a year when so many of my intellectual progenitors have left us. I remember reading Frank’s book Understanding Reading when it was hot off the press. He brought to words and concepts what I as doctoral student in the late 1970s was grappling with. What, from the reader’s persepective was the experience and what did it mean for teaching as well as learning?
His work was seminal and my work was changed because of him.
Thank you, Frank.
