[Reading-hall-of-fame] Re: Nominations to RHF

We could inquire by talking with LRA leaders.
Back to Hilary's initial suggestion about increasing the diversity of the
RHF membership, for me the big question is, can we, as I have suggested,
run parallel membership procedures in order to increase the membership of
underrepresented groups WITHOUT FALLING INTO A DIFFERENT STRUCTURAL RACISM
TRAP (i.e., when you have parallel processes aren't you just changing the
standards to changing in order to change the membership distribution?)? So
if the goal were, as Hilary suggested, to get initially to 40% membership
of underrepresented groups before returning to the traditional process,
couldn't we have two pools, each using the same standards and procedures
and a targeted yield goal? I want to move ahead in an affirmative fashion,
but without ending up simply substituting one brand of racism for another.
We need wise counsel on this matter.
