I also received an individual email from Dykstra. The tone was “how could you.” I have not responded either.
Several months ago I testified before a legislative committee in Wisconsin in relation to dyslexia legislation they were considering/debating. Dykstra was a very vocal member of the committee. Members of the Wisconsin State Reading Association (WSRA) asked me to ‘testify’ and they indicated that the talk was fairly well received and noted that Dykstra did not register strong objections to my testimony. Kathy Champeau, from WSRA, provided me with a link to the recording of the hearing:

My bit starts approximately 2 hrs and 11 minutes in and goes for nearly an hour.
I was also asked back about an hour later….4 hrs, 53 min - not much there but an opportunity to learn a bit more about Steven Dykstra if you haven’t encountered him previously.

Professor Pearson,
You recently signed onto a letter that made false claims about the status of dyslexia in the DSM. I assume you were unaware they were false when you signed the letter. Now that you know, are you considering a full or partial retraction of your support?
Steve Dykstra
