[Reading-hall-of-fame] Re: response from PBS

Hi Cathy and colleagues,

I think that this would be important.  In the Atlantic Monthly piece that Carol Dixon & I did on looking back and looking forward  in literacy, we traced an early argument to 1889 or such.  Addressing the recurrent issues and what we have learned would be important.  Perhaps we could also apply for an AERA conference to support this initiative.  I am happy to share what we have learned about traveling the digital highways to create international dialogues.  Today this is generally no or low cost and it could support a cross-national ongoing dialogue with scholars about their research that would make visible what we are learning through different research traditions.

Let me know if anyone is interested in that as a form of media outreach across programs.  Also you might want to see the RRE on what counts as evidence to different policy makers at different levels of the educational systems internationally.  It RRE 34, 2010.

I look forward to seeing if this makes sense to anyone.
