[Reading-hall-of-fame] Re: From Edutopia

David, that's a good question, but I don't know the answer. With one
exception, none of the "sitings/citings" I've seen have sided with the RHoF
letter. That's not to say there isn't something "out there" that addresses
SD's letter, however. I've not done a systematic search; stuff has come
through my feed, email, and word-of-mouth. I have not responded to any of
the originators, collaborators, and so on.

To do so would simply give more ammunition (in the way of information) to
the other views being expressed. That's just my opinion. I believe everyone
has the right to examine the claims of both sides and make up their own
minds as a result. There's likely no win-win stance or even
"winner-takes-all" option. But that's been expressed on this listserv by a
lot of people already. At the very least, those who signed the letter (I
was one of that group) have expressed their views. Now we get to learn from
the opposition. Trouble is, it's the same-old, same-old, and kids' academic
trajectories still hang in the balance. That's what bothers me most.
