Hi Jack,
 Thanks for making the effort. I agree with every one of your recommendations and will be responding as you suggest. 

In Australia I can sense a strong disenchantment toward IRA. Many of my generation, who would NEVER miss an IRA international conference have stopped attending.  Some younger Aussie literacy researchers are  not submitting proposals  because  of they perceive a bias which favours USA proposals over international presenters. If Australia is typical of other international affilliates, this disenchantment will erode IRA's "international" brand.
I appreciate your attempts to remedy these trends.
