Thanks David. I am reeling from learning about the number of resignations at
IRA. I had already been in touch with Anne and plan to be in touch with
the others. Ironically, I just wrote a thank you note to Corinne Mooney
about the excellent working relationship I had with her and the publications
staff relative to a recent book revision. I know that these are changing and
challenging times. However, I cannot help but feel a sense of deep loss.
Losing so many outstanding key staff members at once can be devastating for
any organization.
Also, re our international presence: During the eighties, in particular,
many of us worked very hard to insure the international focus of IRA. It
would be a shame to let that wane at a time when the world is thinking more
globally. Maintaining our strength within and across countries is vital.
Still, I remain optimistic. There is a great deal at stake.
