Hi all,
I have to submit the annual research survey document to Andy this Friday. I have populated it as far as I could on the basis of our overview spreadsheet. Can you please have a look and see whether there is anything that’s missing?

Can you ensure the annual research survey is completed by your group members by *this* Friday please

Please make sure the add any potential REF 3* or 4* papers published since January 2025 or not included in the last REF review (each group has a list of outputs reviewed)

We will be starting the REF review process again in not too distant future and need this information

Hi,

I wanted to introduce you all to this at a School meeting but we’re all done until September and the deadline for completing this action is mid-September, so a heads up now is best and I’ll talk you through it when we get chance.

We are introducing an Annual Research Survey to be completed by all research groups with input as appropriate from group members. This is to support data collection for REF.

Your heads of group have set up a shared folder with a spreadsheet inside. You should have access to it. If you don’t, please speak to your head of group.

The spreadsheet has several categories of information we would like you to report on if they apply to you. These include: datasets and open source software, esteem indicators, media coverage, policy outputs, public engagement, spin outs, widening participation, and potential 3* and 4* outputs.

The spreadsheet gives you more information about each of these. Please take a look and fill in any that apply. It’s pretty lightweight, it really won’t take more than a few minutes of your time. The deadline for completion this year is 19 September.

Note: do not enter any potential outputs that have already been reviewed.
