The School of Education at the University of Southampton has three senior
posts available (at "Reader" level). Administrative burdens and teaching
load will be reduced for at least the first 2 years of appointment to ena=
ble
research development, together with generous study leave and conference
attendance allowances.
The posts are not limited to specialists in any specific area of educatio=
n.
Applicants with expertise in mathematics education are most welcome to
apply, especially if their interests relate to areas such as knowledge
development; classroom interaction; inclusion; teaching and learning
strategies; emotional and social issues in education; 14-19 and/or higher
education; e-learning.

If you have a track record of successful funded research as well as
publications, are self-motivated but also enjoy working collaboratively,

we would particularly welcome applicants who could add strength to the
School=92s profile in one or more of the following areas: classroom
interaction, inclusion; teaching and learning strategies; emotional and
social issues in education; 14-19 and/or higher education; e-learning;
institutional change and development; evaluation; school leadership and
effectiveness; or policy analysis. We hope that at least one postholder w=
ill
be able to teach quantitative as well as qualitative research methods.
The posts will be focused on developing research proposals, but you will =
be
expected to make some contributions to our ESRC recognised research train=
ing
programme, other academic courses relevant to your expertise, and help to
supervise research students. Administrative burdens will be reduced for a=

least the first 2 years of appointment to enable research development,

Salary will be in the range: =A336,464 - =A341,333 on the Senior Lecturer=

Reader salary scale.
