Hope you have had a great holiday season!

The lunch talk this week will be given by Meghan Gray, on Thursday at 1pm in A113. Title and abstract are below:

Adventures in science communication on the internet: the good, the bad (and the ugly)

In this talk I'll reflect on over 15 years of sharing my love of physics and astronomy as one of the cast of presenters on the Sixty Symbols YouTube channel. The award-winning project is a collaboration with filmaker Brady Haran and scientists at the University of Nottingham -- many of whom are members (past and present) of CAPT. I'll look back at what it was like in the early days as we figured out how to communicate science on the internet, and discuss some of the impact Sixty Symbols and related projects have had over one and a half decades. Along the way, I'll share some thoughts on what has -- and hasn't -- worked for me personally in science communication over the years.
