Speaker: Bjoern Friedrich (Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITP) , University of Heidelberg)

Seminar Date: 19th November, Tuesday 1.00 pm

 Venue: Seminar Room A 113  (Cripps North Building)

 Title:  End-of-the-world Branes and Inflationary Preditions  for Rocky and Swampy Landscapes

Abstract:
We explain how the presence of end-of-the-world branes leads to the
existence of vacuum decay and vacuum creation processes.
We explicitly describe two different creation mechanisms relying on ETW
branes. Knowing various creation and decay rates is important for making
(anthropic) predictions in a multiverse.
We explain how the existence of ETW branes impact the prediction of the
scale of inflation in the string landscape.
