Hi everyone,
As mentioned earlier this week, next week's lunch talk will be a group discussion. This is so where we can talk about anything related to astronomy at Nottingham. It can be anything ranging from technical questions, feedback on the PhD program, or just general questions either about astronomy or the department.
I have created a google form for you to fill out, it is completely anonymous: https://forms.gle/WFhTREHXrPSsgJ8t9
Some ideas for question topics are: careers in astronomy, presenting research, applying to conferences, research techniques, your individual research experience, the future of astronomy…
In terms of feedback, this can be anything from compliments to things you might want to improve. For example I might say how welcoming and wholesome the department is.
For staff members: while I understand you may not have specific questions, it would be great if you could think of some discussion ideas, or questions you may have found useful earlier on in your career.
With the responses I will put them into a set of slides so we can have a discussion in our lunch talk next week.
Thanks,
Mikey
