There is a difference between USER='myuser ' and USER='myuser '@'localhost'

So, set the password using UPDATE user SET 
Password=PASSWORD('new_password') where USER='myuser '@'localhost';

Also make sure that the unzipped folder is accessible by the apache 
webserver (either change the owner to the useraccount that apache uses, 
typically wwwrun, or set the permission on a+r)
