[Xerte] Newline character in textfield

I know that you can use CTRL-Enter to create a newline in a textfield
response. Is there a way of setting it up to accept Enter on its own
(without losing focus)? If not then I'll need an instruction for the
user. What is the equivalent on a Mac?
