[Xerte] Loading XML via asp

Cheers all,
 
I have 2 files on the server feed.xml and feed.asp
 
feed.asp spits out the exact same xml as feed.xml (at least as far as a view source of both outputs goes. They sure look identical to me)
 
XMLDoc.load("feed.xml");
 
or 
 
XMLDoc.load("feed.asp");
 
feed.xml loads, feed.asp won't.
 
I'm missing something obvious?
