[Syrphidae] Re: Assigning common names to species

Hi Marija,

Frank Van de Meutter and I are producing an English version of the Dutch
field guide.
It will be published somewhere in 2023 and we will include common names,
these are ready in the manuscript.
It took us quite a while to make the list. The list is mainly the best of
two already existing lists of names and in close collaboration with them,
the names made by Jeff Skevington et al. for the Nearctic (
http://www.canacoll.org/Diptera/Staff/Skevington/Syrphidae/Syrphidae_Nearctic_Checklist.htm)
and the names on the website of Steven Falk (
https://www.flickr.com/photos/63075200@N07/collections/72157629600153789/).
It would be great if you could use them so we could work towards a single
list of common names. I'll email you also separately from this group email
to discuss this.
