[Syrphidae] Xanthandrus comtus

Hi,

I received this photo showing a Xanthandrus comtus consume micro fungi 
on teasel (Dipsacus fullonum), I presume.

Observation between 5:45 p.m. to 6:35 p.m.

Have you ever seen this way of eating ?

Other explanations?
