Dear Colleague,

As part of our contribution to Refugee Week 2022 we have been working with academic Roda Madziva, Nottingham and Notts Refugee Forum and other partners to create a performance piece that reflects the lived experience of those making a new start in the UK. The piece has been scripted by local playwright Andy Barrett.

If you have an interest in migration issues, community theatre, or co-production we welcome you to join us this Saturday to see the result of the collaboration. Details below -

Performance Picnic at Highfields Park, 18 June, 2.30-4 pm

Over the last few months we've been working with families who are seeking refuge in the UK, exploring the importance of food when you find yourself cut adrift and waiting for a decision that will allow you to restart your life.

Join us for an informal performance picnic as four women share their food and their stories in a Pop Up Restaurant beneath the trees at Highfields Park. We'll come to collect you from Lakeside's Performing Arts Studio (by the café) at 2.30 pm. Don't forget to bring your picnic blanket.

If you would like to attend please email Ben Sherwood so we can add your name to the attendee list- ben.sherwood at nottingham.ac.uk<mailto:ben.sherwood at nottingham.ac.uk>.

We hope to see some of you there.

Best wishes,

Maria
