Dear colleagues,

Educational Studies in Mathematics (ESM) and the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (JRME) intend to publish a few joint editorials in 2020 on important themes for mathematics education research of the future. Jinfa Cai and Arthur Bakker also intend to submit a discussion group on this topic at ICME in 2020. As input for the editorials and discussion, we seek your assistance and hope you are willing to formulate important themes or research questions. We intend to focus on research that will mostly likely have a positive influence, even if indirectly, on the practice of mathematics education.
In your view, on what themes or research questions should mathematics education research focus in the coming decade?

Please give your response by filling in this link https://www.formdesk.com/universiteitutrecht-beta/ESM_survey (before July 22)
And feel encouraged to forward this link to colleagues with views on this question, in particular from scholars in underrepresented countries.
Many thanks,

Arthur Bakker (Editor-in-Chief of ESM)

PS if you do not manage before July 22, but before September 15, we will still be able to incorporate your response for the ICME proposal
