Southampton Education School, based in the Faculty of Social, Human Mathematical Sciences, was ranked 7th by intensity from 76 Education departments in the UK for its research impact, and is currently ranked 4th in the Guardian University League tables for its teaching. The School is well on its way to becoming one of the foremost Education departments in Europe.

In line with its ambition to be a world-leading centre for research and teaching, this flourishing School is seeking to appoint a new research-active Lecturer or Associate Professor whose research interests align with the work of one of our research centres:
*        Centre for Educational Policy
* Centre for Research in Inclusion

Applications are invited from those who have a successful and proven track record of research and publication in one of these areas, and who possess ambitions in line with those of the School. You will have a PhD or equivalent qualifications and experience in Education or a related discipline, relevant teaching or lecturing experience and, where appropriate, professional credibility with students, teachers and stakeholders.

You will be expected to teach across a range of courses reflecting your academic interests and experience, and to participate fully in the research activities of the School.

You will be an integral member of one of the School's research centres and therefore need to be a team player as well as capable of leading your own research agenda. You will be able to demonstrate that you are or will be ready for the next REF submission through a publication record and research trajectory that demonstrates high quality. There will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and expertise through staff development courses and events.
