Ph.D, post-doc and master students in Mathematics Education are=20
warmly invited to attend the II SUMMER SCHOOL IN MATHEMATICS=20
EDUCATION, organized by ERME (the European Society for Research in=20
Mathematics Education), which will be held in Podebrady (near Prague,=20
CZ) from August, 23 to August, 29, 2004.

Coherently with the ERME Manifesto, the aims of the School are:

-  to let people from different countries meet and establish a=20
friendly and co-operative style of work in the field of mathematics=20
education research, in the perspective of a future European research=20
community (open to cooperation with researchers from all over the=20
world);

-  to let people compare and integrate their preparation in the field=20
of mathematics education research in a peer discussion climate and=20
with the help of highly qualified and differently oriented experts;

-  to let people present their research ideas, theoretical=20
difficulties, methodological problems, and preliminary research=20
results, in order to get suggestions (from other participants and=20
experts) about possible developments, different perspectives, etc.=20
and open the way to possible connections with near research subjects=20
and co-operation with researchers in other countries.

In the same website you can find the REGISTRATION FORM (attached to=20
the First Announcement).

Note that the whole cost of the FULL BOARD ACCOMODATION FOR SIX DAYS=20
(including room and all meals) is 187 euro (single room) and 130 euro=20
(for one person in double room). An additional registration fee of no=20
more than 100 euro will be required.

The DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION is January, 20, 2004.
