[Xerte] Old Youtube component question

In the old style youtube model, the url param in the youtube component looks like this:
templatePath + 'common/youtube.swf?' + yt
What is youtube.swf expecting to get in yt?
When I debug at the bottom of the "getPageID" icon, I get undefined for yt.I thought it would be looking for the Youtube vidID value. but that doesn't load anything eitherWhen I hard code to a swf on my server, it loads as expected.
