The thing I would do next is start xot in Chrome and press F12 (doesn't need
to be Chrome, but I know the debugger features of Chrome best) and look at
the css for the elements that are not displayed correctly.

The integration.php page where you build your courses - it's got the row of
buttons 'New Folder / Properties / Edit / Preview/ etc'. Do you recall how
this page positions itself? 

This is a crazy little problem I know. on my production server that page
sits square in the center of the page, properly positioned on the
background, but on my development server it is jammed into the upper left
corner and some buttons (positioned absolute it appears) cannot be seen. I'm
trying to understand what positions that page, or what would influence it. I
don't see any file differences between the two servers (at least not yet) so
suspected something in the dbase but nothing obvious is showing up.

Any thoughts on what might be positioning the page?
