It would be something to try, but based on Pat's comment I'm not sure if it's definitive.
Is the problem in the zip or in the MIME assigned to it?

I'm not sure how to proceed with this.
Perhaps if anyone has a zipped LO you could send me which you know does import okay, I could test it with that?

Yes, but I believe XOT just makes a call, it does not use it's own captive zip client.So some proprietary zippers do unexpected things...
