Hi Stefanie,
 
It is in the Help: Xerte Reference > Icons > Learning Object >
Properties. Most of the important stuff is found in Xerte Reference >
Icons. Over time, you'll learn which icons to focus on for doing
specific tasks. When you first start out with Xerte, if you aren't
already a Flash programmer, it all seems cryptic. I use to use
Authorware, another eLearning authoring program on which Xerte's
interface is modeled, so that gave me a good foundation.

I am really excited about working on documentation, I think it would
help a great deal to know these little things. I went through the help
file but I must have completely overlooked this.

You can set the selectableText property to 1 for the Learning Object
icon (the first icon in the project) to make text in text icons
selectable. It's off by default.

Hello!
I am reposting this because I think it got lost in my long list of
stuff: I cannot select and copy text from my published learning object
or from the Xerte preview. I have seen this in other Xerte objects as
well, e.g., http://www-old.hud.ac.uk/tqef/xerte/index.htm.
It does not seem to happen in learning objects produced with the Xerte
online toolkits. 
Is this a general bug or a specific setting? Is there a fix?
