[Xerte] There's a cat in a box in the Interactive Diagram (customHotspots) page and it won't come out!

I have found an intransigent little tabby in the customHotspots page.
I have spent a couple of hours trying to persuade it to come out but it
won't play ball.
At this rate I won't make much progress on the translation preparation so I
am referring it back to the Xerte list.
I am using the model file from the Xerte svn customHotspots.rlm
Create a pageTemplates project with a title page and an Interactive Diagram
page.
Edit the drawing in the Interactive diagram page, add a graphic and give it
3 hotspots.
Add a label and info to each of the three hotspots and save the drawing.
Set the page's interactivity to MCQ and save your project.
Now preview it.
Navigate a few times back and forth between the title page and the
Interactive Diagram page and on each visit to the Interactive Diagram page
look out for the Check button.
After two or three returns to the page it has usually disappeared. Which
rather takes the edge of the invitation the page offers that "You can
retake the quiz at any time"
I look forward to finding out what is causing this temperamental behaviour.
Kind regards
Johnathan
