You could edit database.php and add in 'var_dump($xerte_toolkits_site);' near the bottom I think. Note this will display all your configuration to anyone accessing the server
As they said, I suspect you need to edit database.php and put the correct settings in. Presumably you've overwritten it somehow.
Perhaps you didn't remove the setup/ folder, which could cause it to be overwritten if someone accessed it. There is/was a more visible warning in 'trunk' that you need to remove the setup folder after installation.
