Hi Nigel

The old Moodle patch for your old XOT shouldn't need to change for Moodle
2.2 apart from changing the path to your moodle 2.2 config. However if you
are also applying later versions of XOT then the Moodle patch is included in
the XOT download and detailed in a readme file within that download. We are
currently testing XOT 1.8 and again the Moodle patch for this has changed
slightly but will be part of the download.

 

With regard to moving an installation it's similar to moving a moodle:

 

back up the database and directories

restore both to the new server

update the relevant paths in the site_details table to reflect the change

update database.php if necessary

update the path in the moodle patch files if necessary

 

If you're going for a new XOT install rather than needing to move the
current install I'd been inclined to suggest waiting until XOT 1.8 is
released.

Hi

 

Whats the best practice for moving an XOT installation from one server to
another. I have XOT at the present time installed alongside moodle 1.9, inc
the moodle patch. I have installed a moodle 2.2 installation and want to
replicate the XOT installation for testing purposes. Also is there an update
for the moodle patch for 2.2
