Load a swf and call a function in that to do the work, use the component icon, could maybe do other things like check the current domain against list of allowed domains, etc, From: xerte-bounces at lists.nottingham.ac.uk [mailto:xerte-bounces at lists.nottingham.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Dave Burnett

Subject: [Xerte] Re: passing parameters True, but decompiling a swf takes a lot more determination than View Source. Say I'm bouncing email from the .rlo via an asp page.I don't want to expose that url in the page source or the .rlo From: Julian.Tenney at nottingham.ac.uk

Subject: [Xerte] Re: passing parametersYes, I guess so. But you can de-compile swfs. What do you need to send? Can you encode it? From: xerte-bounces at lists.nottingham.ac.uk [mailto:xerte-bounces at lists.nottingham.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Dave Burnett

Subject: [Xerte] Re: passing parameters Would any of that be visible in source? I was thinking of a call from within the engine, so you'd have to decompile that to know what was being done. From: Julian.Tenney at nottingham.ac.uk

Subject: [Xerte] passing parameters Currently I launch web-based courses via a couple of authorware files, a login then a menu router. I’d like to switch this to .net (or similar) but need to be able to pass some parameters to the launched xerte file…I don’t see much info on the list about success in doing this. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? The data being passed needs to be reasonably secure (not publicly visible). ThanksRonM2
