[Xerte] Re: LDAP [Scanned]

As I started the most recent discussion about this I'll add it to
google.code but effectively the installations I was trying to get to work is
now working with an older version of index.php and login_library.php
I did try to locate the problem/solution with the latest files but I think
there were about 200 lines difference between the two login_library.php
files and a difference in the way things are handled and I couldn't spot
where the problem might be.
Given that Tom has reported that the latest version is working on his
OpenSuSE installation it seems (guesswork) like this might be specific to a
Windows install and/or MS AD connection. Looking at previous list discussion
about LDAP and the previous thread started by Ray Reeves that I effectively
re-opened it seems likely most of the problems has been with Windows
installations. Like Pat I don't normally have access to an LDAP system but
have been helping a college with other stuff and promoting/supporting the
use of XOT at the same time. I might try to do a separate install so I can
try to resolve this without delaying use of the now working installation all
be it with the two older pages.
Cheers
Ron

I agree about moving discussions off list, but putting everything onto
google.code assigns it to me - and I can't replicate every single
problem everyone has (I have no LDAP system), or want to commit
(personally) to fixing every problem people come across. In this
example - the code can't be that different - so a diff / looking at
the code side by side should be sufficiently informative as to offer
solutions to the problem.
If I was to fix the problem, that's what I would do, but there are
plenty of people as capable as me of that.

think we only need to discuss things here until we know there is a problem.
An issue should then be logged, and further discussion logged under the
issue. The issue can be closed when the issue has been fixed with a commit.
