Hi Pat
thanks but I'm not just trying to fix my own problem with an installation
here. It seems that something has changed since a previous version which is
stopping the syndication functionality from working properly. I guess this
only crops up for those wishing to share their syndication feed and
therefore isn't widely reported as a problem but that same feed makes it
easy for individuals to share LO's for download even if their organisation
isn't plugging that feed into xpert so I think it's worth resolving whatever
is causing the problem and happy to test/troubleshoot/feedback.

It's an RSS Feed issue -
http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmultimedia.bath.ac.u
k%2Fxerte%2Fsyndicate.php
put cdata around the relation node in syndicate.php and see what happens.
I'd also recommend replacing "Put your institution name here" with
your favourite Mr Man.
I always go with Mr Tickle.
