Hmm. Not working here either. Anyone else? It must have worked when you did your training day? I can't imagine the day went by without someone trying the youtube videos?

Use the old one that worked - I'll check that...

Cheers Julian. Must have been an old file in there somewhere then.
However, now the Youtube page type doesn't seem to work? The video embeds but won't play. I seem to remember having to update this as Youtube changed their embed code. The youtube model in the standalone version doesn't work either (for me anyway).

I would just update the template files, leave the system as it is if it's working properly. Use the files from the project you just created in Xerte: they are usually pretty up to date, monthly or thereabouts. Some of the files need renaming, Nottingham.rlt instead of template.rlt; data.xwd instead of template.xwd, etc.

Installed Xerte standalone on the same server and the gap fill works fine.
What is the best way to update everything? Just download XOT again from the Xerte website and then copy over the top? I have index.php hooked up to LDAP so I don't want another instance really.
XOT says it was last updated on 14th July 2010 and I've definitely re-downloaded and copied over since then so not sure if that will work.

It might do, yes.
The things that might make a difference are:
- The model in modules/xerte/parent_templates/Nottingham/models
- The main template Nottingham.rlt file in modules/xerte/parent_templates/Nottingham
- The engine, XMLEngine.swf in the root.
I can't think of any others. Can you try making a project in Xerte directly, i.e. not using toolkits, but using Templates -> Page Templates in Xerte standalone, and make one in there - what happens then?
I have a suspicion you've not updated one of the files correctly, or it's caching, or something like that, because there isn't really anything else in the picture: can you check? I don't think it's caching because otherwise I wouldn't see the issue here.

Hi Julian
I've updated the two files but it hasn't fixed the problem.
Drag and Drop displays weird chars: http://elearning.net.marjon.ac.uk/rlo/play.php?template_id=191
Fill in the Blank doesn't leave blank spaces: http://elearning.net.marjon.ac.uk/rlo/play.php?template_id=192
I notice your player has the volume control on the bottom and mine doesn't - would the version of the player make any difference?

Hmm.
Is anyone else seeing this? Can anyone else recreate it?
If you update the XMLEngine.swf and the Nottingham.rlt with the ones attached, does it fix it? Not sure what else could be different. Back up your existing files in case we want to step back,
If you set it to fill in blank it works fine, right?

Hmm, doesn't seem to have made any difference. Copied/replaced - restarted IIS, then created a new project and it still breaks:

Any other ideas?

I recreated your exercise, and slid your egg into the plan: seems to work OK. Try the model attached, let me know if it's still cranky,

Hi. I seem to have a problem with drag and drop page template in XOT. Rather than leaving a 'blank' for the word a strange character shows up, and the word is still displayed.
[cid:image002.jpg at 01CBB957.95827800]
I've checked the activity and the words are correctly listed. This always used to work - perhaps it broke when I updated some templates previously? Where can I download the page template again?
Cheers, Adam
