[Xerte] Re: Narration Issue - fix works!

It beats me why making the final interaction perpetual makes any difference to leaving it non-perpetual...

Let's see what happens, I might add a comment, because it's the sort of thing I might 'tidy up' later...

Yes as I said it seems like changing the Narration handler to perpetual and keeping the separate innit interaction as it was in the version you sent to the list was working fine and allowing the default display mode to work. My comment/question about not sure if this causes any other problems was just a bit of caution. I've been testing this with an LO that I'm using at an event tomorrow and did spot an odd intermittent bug with that and the theme changing but that may be due to other code I have in the .rlt so I'll do some further testing and report back later.

Cheers
Ron

Alright, try this. I know I had tried to fix this at some point in the past, and not managed it, which is why I was asking for you guys to test it. This is the version with the perpetual setting, and the two interactions to handle events. I cannot see why it wouldn't work, my tests show it works, just unsure whether there are any banana skins in there,

Looks like we spoke slightly too soon! :-( Just noticed that although the narration problem is fixed moving the innit appears to have resulted in a different problem...

Now if an LO's default display mode is set to full screen or fill window it doesn't take effect. Changing by the user still works but not onload.

I had a look and it seems changing the narration handlers interaction to perpetual fixes this but I'm not sure if that introduces any other problems?

Good. I expect that if a piece with a few pages continues to function as usual, then the changes don't have any ill effects, thanks,

Hi Julian,

The new template works great! Narration shows up on first page when exercise loads and nothing else seems to be broken.

Thank you so much.

Deborah
