Pat

if you were going to work on a merge script I wonder if a related addition
would be possible too? e.g. at the moment selecting workspace and then
import always creates a new LO which then obviously has a new ID but what
people often ask is about importing and replacing/updating an existing LO
and keeping the same ID so that existing links and embeds aren't broken. So
I wonder if a tick box or use of the same LO name could control
updating/replacing rather than creating new but obviously retaining the
option to create new instead like a prompt or something.

A merge script wouldn't be that much to be honest J

If Xerte is being used alongside another system (eg Moodle, web pages,
Intranet etc) I would tend to argue that having smaller disconnected units
hyperlinked together from a central page is better, giving more opportunity
for differentiation, alternative sequencing and so on.

. but then part of my argument would be because I didn't know how to join
them together anyway J

Hi

I've had an email from a group of staff/students that are building a number
of LOs using toolkits. They asked me how easy (and what the process is) to
join the content of the LOs together (e.g. amalgamating say 2 learning
objects into 1).

Is there a quick way to do this or is it a case of copying content across
manually?

Any wisdom well received, Adam
