Shirley
looking back through some of your previous messages I think you've been
using Xerte Online Toolkits (XOT) rather than Xerte is that correct?
e.g. Xerte 2 = Windows application aimed at developers XOT = server
application which can also be used locally on Windows via a locally
installed web server so you then access it via http://localhost/yourxerte
If that's what you're looking for on the Mac then as I replied previously
download and install mamp http://www.mamp.info/en/index.html and then
download and install XOT.
This is what Pat meant by "localhost version?"

I have been using Xerte to create our student IT induction - with the hope
that lecturers would take some ideas from this - so far so good I have quite
a few interested in creating LO's for uploding to our portal - however one
of our sites is mac based and I wanted to know if it could be installed
locally on mac (not server at this stage) so that lecturer could create his
content on the mac?? hope this explains thanks

No, not yet. Xerte 3.0 will have a Mac version.

Is there a version of Xerte for creating learning objects on a Apple mac?
And if so where do install it from.
Thanks
