That's basically it yes, you need the Air SDK and then make the installer on whatever platform you want (i.e. you need a Mac to make the Mac installer)
Internally there's a few if (os == 'mac') stuff, but not much.

Nice one, Julian! Is this a by-product of going to Flex, that you can
compile versions for different platforms without having to code
specifically for them? And yes, I suspect that a Linux version would be
very handy for some folk, if it's wash 'n' go to produce.
