I don't think we ever did decide why LoadVars works to load local rlo with data from server, but sendAndLoad to the same URL just fails.

No, locally it ought be able to do anything it likes. It's when you get in the browser the fun starts. We never saw a lot of these issues because, locally, everything was fine.

I'm guessing, but I think it's more along the lines of the local Xerte piece isn't even able to talk to the internet without permissions.

I've tried setting the Xerte folder in the Flash Global Sec settings, but no xml load.

If while I am developing a bit and I want to load some XML from my server, what's the trick?



ctrls.sendAndLoad(myReq, FileLocation + 'some.xml'); //trips onLoad event



ctrls.sendAndLoad(myReq, 'http://www.myserver.com/dave/some.xml'); // just sits at event trap
