Xerte is an XML editor, but the underlying functionality is Flash ActionScript 2.
So add the Flash help files as a place to look for answers.
Not discouraging anyone from posting the list, but I tend to run across things in the Help files just by happenstance that come in handy later.
The help files generally also contains code snippets demonstrating the function that can be cut/pasted for use in your piece.
