Can't really agree with that one - that's like saying one size fits all
which as we all know it doesn't!
I'd argue that there are benefits for a lot of users if an author has
decided to include instructions/summary as a short narration rather than
just text. In fact often the narration would be different to the text,
shorter than the text etc sometimes (different pages) it would be
appropriate for this to autoplay (which the user can still stop) and
sometimes it would be better as an option to listen to under user control
and/or autoplay the first time but not when revisiting the page.
Similarly the auto navigate might be appropriate for a series of static
pages but then not when followed by an annotated diagram.
I can see that adding this for all page types individually might be a
problem at the moment. If I can get the example I attached working properly
when online I'll create one or two examples where I think this would be
really useful. Might try that example on a different server in case there's
something at server level causing the difference between offline and online
use. But if you can spot an error in my code please shout! ;-)

>For some pages e.g. where interaction is included auto navigate
wouldn't be appropriate but auto narrate might. The only thing I would say
is that these would need to be options for each page type rather than
something only set as an LO property applying to all pages.
You only have one sound icon for the narration, so this is more difficult
than applying the settings to the whole lot, and would mean changing every
model, but essentially each page would need additional properties for 'auto
play narration' and 'next page on complete'
As well as liking the navigation and controls to be in the hands of the
user, I also like this to be consistent - i.e. if a LO auto navigates from
page 1 to 2 it should do this for pages 3 to 4 , 4 to 5 and so on. I think
the consistency is more important than how it actually functions: you could
argue that narration should auto start, or not, and probably fight a holy
war about it, but I'd say that whatever you decide, you should always do it
that way.
