1. Yes. Put quotes around it. 'http://blah/image.jpg'
SR: Ah, thanks... missed the quotes
2. Not .wmv - only .flv. Use ffmpeg to convert.
SR: Well, that was the problem... needing to play them in place. There are a large number of wmv's and they change frequently. I don't have access to the actual video files.
3. Why not just link to the resource I situ on toolkits? Why do you need to export it?
SR: We have LMS's on multiple servers (running IIS, SQL Server) and I thought I'd put Xerte on a server by itself so things don't conflict. May need to figure out how to make them all play nicely together so Xerte can be on each server.
Thanks for the reply!
sr

Subject: [Xerte] References to web pages and video files
I've just installed Xerte online, what a great niche this fills... web-based content development tool that could be integrated directly into an LMS. Anyway, I have a few newbie questions. I had some very specific things I needed to get into a training module.
1. Can I reference a web page (or url to a graphic) and display it inside the lo?
2. Can I play a streaming video inside the lo?... especially .wmv's
3. With the installation of filezilla, I assumed the export function was going to give me the option to export a SCORM course to a specific server and directory so I didn't have to mess with creating the zip, manually transferring the sco to the web server, and unzipping. Or, is there a function to do that?
Thanks,
sr
