That should not be happening, but it seems you have some evidence that
it is.
In the editor / preview, when you click the stop button, the piece is
unloaded; when you click the play button it is first unloaded and then
re-loaded, so it ought to be killed when you preview each time.
I might need to be able to reproduce this to investigate further, are
there some simple steps I can follow?

I somehow have the feeling, that the editor, each time I press on
preview, launches another preview on top of the old one. At first
processor level is at around 30% (which unfortunately is normal when I
run Parallels). After the 5th preview at already added another 10% of
processor usage. Also I saw, that a debug output from the videos synch
event from a previous preview still runs, when I start a new preview
(showing the old value, showing the new, old, new and so on). Could this
be a general problem or is it perhaps only my parallels?
P.S. I installed a virus scan. Nothing found yet (I'm not using window
to access the internet, but nevertheless, it should be more secure to
use a virus scan anyway)

most important topics :-)).

forget a kind of reset option than. From my experience some users are
experts in screwing up the whole UI and this gives them the wayback
machine.
