[Xerte] Xerte 3 Beta

I'd consider making your piece easy to navigate to the nth page, because
if you're getting tired trying to find your way back, then maybe so are
your users...

...but it is useful to have some shortcut to the current Icon. Because
of all the new components, this is bit more tricky than in Xerte 2, but
I'll look at it at some point. The GUI stuff is relatively easy / fun to
do. I'm concerned at the minute to find any bugs in the runtime, but
will keep adding these things to my GUI list...

I'm pretty sure I will leave them all docked ...

Regarding the Output window I could even imagine that one would be able
to close it. If you are done with the main debugging of your piece, I
would prefer to close it and thus have more free space for (visual)
development.

One very nice feature to be included would be the preview from current
page. I'm now on creating the 12th page of my piece and clicking eleven
times to see it is doable, but not very convenient (on the other hand
this makes sure that you keep your e-learning piece focussed on the most
important topics :-)).

It will change the size of the stage: you might be building a big 920 x

for a web page: I thought it useful to be able to quickly set some
commonly used sizes;

Saving settings, yes, absolutely, when I get some time...

The next thing on my list is to allow the output panel to undock and
either float free, or dock beneath the tree and properties panel.

Then I want to allow the preview pane to undock and float free;

I think that's all the docking that really needs to happen?

This looks good!

You included a resolution switch for the Preview Panel. Will this allow
us to change the actual zoom level or will it be a kind of "how would my
application look like on a cell phone?" thing?

Also it would be perfect if Xerte will be able to save the workspace
settings, when you close it (size of the panels, docked/undocked). Don't
forget a kind of reset option than. From my experience some users are
experts in screwing up the whole UI and this gives them the wayback
machine.

Thanks for the new version!

If you're following Xerte 3 developments there is a new version for your
delectation at

Some pretty significant UI changes which I think are major improvements.
The properties panel still undocks, it just makes more sense to start
out docked I reckon. Eventually I'll get around to the other windows and
get them docking / undocking as well.
